Every year at this time in primary they do a spotlight on each of the children. I like to share the spotlight here so that I can see how Julia changes each year. She is getting so dang big so fast. Some other things about Julia right now:

1. She is becoming an excellent artist. Her favorite subject is flying unicorns and she is is very good at drawing them. We have more flying unicorns than I can count floating around the house.

2. She runs spontaneously. Always running.

3. She bites her fingernails.

4. She has become a very good cleaner and bed maker. That doesn't mean she never complains but she is getting better. It is a huge help to me.

5. She loves movies.

6. She loves dancing and going to dance class. She works really hard on perfecting the skills she learns there. Her turns are looking better and better.

7. She loves to ride her bike. She only has one speed though, super fast. We are working on something more in the middle. She is getting really good on her new bike she got for Christmas.

8. She loves to go sledding and looks for the very highest point of the hill to go down. Because she really likes it fast.

9. Julia loves friends and other kids. She is always wanting to play with someone.

10. Julia loves primary. Her favorite part is when she gets called on to participate.

11. She has learned the art of the pout. When she gets angry now she broods in her bedroom. I think she is practicing for when she is a teenager.

12. Julia loves swimming.

13. Julia is a very loving and kind. She is always worried when Audrey is upset. She is always willing to give a hug. She is also very kind to her friends at school.

We just couldn't love our little Julia more. She is so full of life and joy and we are so fortunate to be able to have her in our home.

A New Year

So I decided for my New Years Post I would not only put pictures of what we did this year but a little reflection on the year 2010. It was almost surreal as I searched pictures of the last year, remembering all that our family has done. I can't believe how much we as a family have grown and changed. It's almost scary to look at an upcoming year and think of all that will happen in 2011. On the other hand it is exciting to see the changes and growth that inevitably occurs and most of all the memories and wonderful times you were able to have. So here is our family reflection of 2010....

2010 New Years Eve was spent with Bryan's brother James, his wife Natalie and Scott. We were able to have a relaxed night, get our bums whipped at scrabble, eat an obscene amount of food (seriously steak, cheesecake, homemade salsa, potatoes, the delicious list goes on and on) and best of all have great conversation. We really LOVE spending time with this family.
And of course these cute kiddos got to play and play.

December 2010 the highlight was surprising all of our family with a visit. I will seriously never forget the looks on faces as we caught them completely off guard. Simply the best.
November 2010. Getting to meet this little guy for the first time. And of course spending time with his mom and dad.
October 2010. Trick or treating with Nana and Papa. My dad was Julia's big trick or treating buddy and we wouldn't have had it any other way.
September 2010. Our annual apple picking and of course the Buckeyes!
August 2010. Literally the most relaxing and best vacation ever. Look at that beach! It is my happy place.
July 2010. Swimming swimming swimming.
June 2010. Saying goodbye to some of my very best friends. Not a highlight. Dang it I miss these girls. Thank goodness for phones.
May 2010. Sending Phil off on a mission.
April 2010. A belated birthday and Easter celebration with some of our other very best friends. We absolutely love this family. Never a dull moment with these two boys that's for sure.
March 2010. We had so many visits from family. Not only sweet Alli and her mom and dad but James and Natalie too! We sure love visitors.
February 2010. Julia's date with Jansen to Disney on Ice.
January 2010. The trash can headed snowman. Honestly how could we forget that?
Now we are looking forward to another year and can't wait to see what 2011 brings us.
