Snow Basin

We had the best Saturday.  My parents called and said they wanted to come down and do something fun.  So we headed up to Snow Basin for a fun day.   It ended up being even more fun than we planned.  The weather was perfect, the leaves were changing and we had the most delightful time.

Even Grace had the time of her life.
My mom brought a picnic for us all to enjoy.  We found a good little spot to stop and eat.
The mountains are so beautiful there.
We went on a little loop hike that was just the perfect distance for the girls.  It was beautiful and just long enough.

We even got a family photo.
We enjoyed playing with Papa's ski poles used as walking sticks.
 Such pretty leaves.
 Lily collected a few.
Nana brought trail mix for us to enjoy on the trail.
We then headed over to the resort and decided to take the gondola up the mountain.  It was faster than we expected and the girls loved it.

Even little Grace got a huge kick out of the ride.  We would yell every time we went over the bumps.  The view from the top and going up was amazing as well.  You could see Pineview resevoir and the entire valley.
 See that view behind Audrey!
The top was equally as spectacular.  The rocks were so jagged.
We even found a teeny bit of snow up there.

We snuck in the lodge up there and enjoyed the views from the windows.

We wanted to hike further up the mountain so we could see into Ogden but knew we had to probably get back.  Next time!
 We still walked around nonetheless.

Finally It's Lily's Turn!

Preschool finally arrived.  Lily was so excited she could hardly stand it.  She carefully laid her outfit out the night before and is thrilled with her kitty back pack.  This Lily makes us so happy with her cheerful attitude and enthusiasm for life.
Her teacher is so excellent.  This is her first year having a preschool in her home but she is just amazing.  She really loves the kids and is so organized.  Lily adores her.
 It was a success!
And now I get a couple of hours to love on this crazy haired beauty.  Those cheeks get kissed and kissed.
Having the girls at school means Lily gets a little more one on one time which is fun for her.  We went for this great walk and stopped at the Botanical Gardens.  It is so pretty.  We stopped by a park and let Lily play as well.

Then we grabbed the most delicious lunch downtown.  Bryan's reuben was the best.  Bryan takes Monday mornings off and every once in a while we do something fun like this.
Lily also started tap dance.  She starts the class with a little tumbling and then does tap.  It is adorable and the class size is nice and small so I feel like she is really learning.
She goes with her best friend Clara, and they also go to preschool together.  I am so thankful that she has this sweet friend in her life.  They are just adorable together.
Lunch is fun with these two every day.  This day I fed Grace mixed vegetables and Lily was certain I was feeding her grass.  "Ew, mom are you feeding her grass?  That's gross."
We had an early Friday out and headed over to the Great Salt Lake Preserve.  It was so beautiful and fun for the kids to run down the boardwalk and up the structures.  I am always amazed at all the beautiful places we have to visit around us.
Look at all that grass!  It was pretty marshy and then the Lake is beyond.
 The weather was just amazing.
Fun friends.  They climbed all over the structure behind them and played for a really long time.
Such a beautiful day.  Hints of fall are sneaking in the weather and I don't mind it one bit.

Meeks 2015

Before I get into this year's addition of our Meeks Cabin family reunion I have to put a cute picture of my sweet Grace.  She just keeps growing.  She's sitting up like a pro and just keeps us all smiling.
Julia also started soccer right before we left.  She feels a lot more confident since she had her soccer camp this summer.  Her team struggles a little bit but we are seeing lots of improvement.  Julia is actually playing really well, so that's been fun to watch.
I just love the drive to Meeks.  I think the Uintas are so beautiful.
Lots of time was spent fishing at this beautiful spot.
 Lily with her cousin Lia.
 Bryan caught so many fish.
 Papa hanging out with Lily.
It was fun to sit back and watch all the fish being caught.
Julia was determined to fish on her own.  She did pretty good.
 Audrey helped reel one in.
 We also picked cattails.
Getting the fish off the hook.  We always left this job to daddy.
Audrey got up close and personal with her fish.
Grace spent a lot of time sleeping and walking around in the walker.  She was a good little girl.  She didn't sleep great at night but I had pretty low expectations so we were good.
Carli of course did not disappoint and painted all the faces.
 Lily loved her butterfly.
 Cute rainbow.
Julia wanted a tiger.  She's really into a book series called Warriors.  I think she gave Carli the difficult task of trying to duplicate one of the characters.
 Fun in the lodge.
More fishing.  Julia was thrilled with this catch.
Some friends showed up with their side by sides and gave everyone rides.
 Julia is always climbing.
More face painting and t-shirt making.
So nice to have a phone-less dad for a weekend.
Adam hurt his back very seriously so they were only able to come up Sunday evening.  Those twin boys are too cute.
The feast was more than a hit.  Delicious.
 Cutest little matching t-shirt girls.
The ones who make it all possible.
These little twins thought Bryan was awesome.  Probably because he is.
