Last night while I was at book club, Bryan was watching Julia. Well when daddy's home it's a party and when it came time for bed, Julia was not too pleased. Bryan laid her in bed and she continued to scream and scream and scream. So finally he gave her the warning that he would take away her tinkerbell pillow and blanket if she wouldn't sleep. This is generally a very effective strategy in our home and works almost always. Well last night Julia decided she was going to retaliate. Taking the Tinkerbell pillow was truly the last straw. So in her genius plan she climbed out of her crib. Well I believe she soon realized the error of her strategy because climbing out of the crib is not so easy for one so young. Bryan heard a thump. Worried the entire crib had fallen apart he rushed to her rescue. More scared than hurt, Julia was quickly consoled and went to sleep almost instantly. When I went in to get her this morning I discovered that her nose was black and blue. I have heard of many bruises, black eyes, etc. but I do believe it takes a special talent to bruise one's nose. She must have face planted it poor girl.
Needless to say she recovered very quickly. No permanent damage done. She is as thrilled as can be wearing her life jacket that she found in her closet. She has honestly been in a better mood today than she has been all week. She even cooperated to take the "nose" picture up above and the cute smiley picture below. So we surived unscathed, other than a black and blue nose, well actually nostril.

The Couch of Joy
Julia's birthday is in a few weeks and so my parents celebrated a little early and bought her this princess couch. I don't think I have ever seen her love anything more. She was in heaven. Every morning she begs me to play on it. Bryan likes it because it helps her sit still for a minute. As you can see by the smile on her face though, this is one fun birthday present. Thankyou Nana and Papa!
The Brisbane Bear needed to sit up on the couch with her. It really isn't any fun to sit on the couch alone.
Of course we also needed a picture with our arm around Brisbane Bear.

Inniswood Metro Gardens
We went to Inniswood Metro Gardens with my family as I know many of you have. It was the funnest place ever. We had such a great time. If you haven't been, you must go. Julia was seriously terrified of the spider though. She would scream, "SCARY!" when Bryan put her up next to it. So, enjoy our slide show of some of the things we saw!

Nana and Papa!
Nothing's better than Nana and Papa coming to spoil spoil spoil. My parents came on the cheapo tickets to visit. My mom came once before when Julia was first born and this is the first time my dad got to come and visit. We had such a fun time. We went to Kirtland, Bryan took my dad to the OSU game, my mom and I shopped and we had so much fun. I don't think anyone had as much fun as Julia though. She loved the attention and loved every minute of having them here. Even two days later she still asks to go and play with them. Hopefully they come back to visit soon!
Definitely a Papa's girl. He was putty in her hands if you can imagine.
You may think that we were in some cute pumpkin patch at some fun location when actually we were at the Walmart parking lot. You can tell by the red stripe behind many of the pictures. Who knew Walmart would provide such a great backdrop.

Cutest Cheerleader

Have you ever seen a cuter cheerleader? We went to a BBQ at homestead park on Saturday, the day of the game. We just had to take some pics of Julia because she looked so dang cute. She must have been good luck too because the Buckeyes pulled it off with a win.

My Creative Juices

So the other day I decided to get my creative juices flowing and I made some hair bows for Julia. I was happy with the way they turned out. It seriously took me three hours to make this many bows though and it's a good thing my camera isn't all that great because there was hot glue stuck to some of the ribbons and despite how hard I tried I couldn't always get the bows to be the same size. But despite that Julia will be wearing them. After three hours she'll wear whatever I made.
I made the bows during her nap and when she woke up she was really excited about them and begged me to put them in her hair. So as you can see we put all of them in her hair. She walked around saying, "cute" and "pretty." When I took them out she was not happy. Can you say girly girl? What have I done?

Story Time
So today we went to storytime at the library and learned about animals that come out at night. We are trying to do some things that will teach Julia to sit still and listen to a teacher figure. She does pretty well and loves to sing the songs and really loves to clap after every song. And then at the end the lady that teaches puts a stamp on their hand. Julia runs to the front of the line and just shoves her way in there and makes sure that she gets a stamp on both hands. Anyways, they gave us an owl puppet to make. With much prodding I finally convinced Julia to color her owl and show it off for the camera. It took some convincing on my part, but she did a good job. She looks like a total scrounge in this picture, but that's the way it goes. I think that it's spaggheti o's that are on her face and the one pant leg up is a fashion statement she's trying to make I think. Oh well, as long as she is smiling that's all that matters.

Okay, it's the end of the summer and though I know these pictures will pose little interest to anyone, we were so excited about how well our flowers grew this year and how pretty they were. They added so much to our house because we could look out the deck and see them. So for my hard working husband who spent alot of time planting and watering I wanted to put up the final product of our beautiful little deck garden.

These are the impatients that we planted. I think that we planted them because impatient is what I am feeling a large portion of the day. Well hopefully not a large portion, but maybe a good portion.

Julia's favorite toy in the entire house is the piano. She sits and sings and puts her picture books where the music goes. She really enjoys playing the Courdory Books. As you can see in the video she is playing her ABC magnets. Her favorite book to play out of is "Jesus Loves You" which is the Children's Song Book. She amazes me because she will turn to the exact page she wants. She knows what song it is based on the picture, and then she will sing the three or four words she remembers of the song. My favorite song she sings is Once There Was a Snowman because she really gets into it. I tell you what, even though her music isn't all that beautiful, it brings me so much joy to see her so happy sitting there and singing her songs whether made up or learned. It amazes me how fast they learn. And then there are those days where I have to unscrew the knobs to the lid of the piano because yeah, you can only take so much. Anyways, I hope that you enjoy her beautiful rendition of the ABC's.

Grandma's are the Best!!
Julia's Grandma (Bryan's mom) came to visit and she had the best time. I think that when you live far away from family you forget how nice it is when your child has other people who love them. We had a great time at the zoo, COSI, Hocking Hills and the pool. You can tell that Julia loved every minute of it.

Working at the Carwash
Julia loves the water and when we wash our car she can't just stomp in the puddles she has to rub her hands in it and then rub it all over her face. So not only is the car getting washed, but Julia's getting washed too-well she's getting washed in nasty car wash water that has been on the nasty ground, but whatever as long as she's have a good time.
Woo hoo check out those dance moves.
Check out that smile. Who knew that washing the car could bring so much joy.
