The good: I just got back from the the most fun, relaxing, wonderful trip ever and got to spend some great quality time with my sister and parents.
The bad: The picture below of us getting ready to board the Carolina Belle to take a Harbor Cruise is the only picture we have of our wonderful trip. And to mock my pain the scanner made the picture backword.
We arrived back from our trip Saturday late and Sunday I was so excited to show Bryan all the fun pictures we had from our trip. After searching every single bag we figured it was left in the rental van. So many phone calls were made over two days and finally we convinced the lady to personally go and look. Well it appears some rental car cleaner is enjoying his/her new camera and I hope when he/she looks through the pictures and sees a wonderful family enjoying themselves his/her heart gets a sharp stab of guilt, serious guilt, knowing that they deprived us of having those memories for years to come. So you are just going to have to imagine the adorable pictures of:

Wading in the ocean that first night. The water is 85 degrees this time of year. I can totally handle that temperature.
Our wonderful condo and the beautiful screened porch and view of the lowlands. The marshlands there are so pretty, especially at sunset.
Our mornings at the beach. We spent at least four hours there every day and ate peanut butter sandwiches.

Oh, the sadness of it all. I guess that Bryan and I are just going to have to take another trip there next year. It really was the most fascinating and beautiful place. I can't wait to go back and be sure that I have pictures to document it.
I must also thank my wonderful family for coming and spending time with me. I forget how much I miss them until I drop them off at the airport and try to hide my tears. My girls got too used to having them around. Audrey was even calling them "Nana", "Papa" and "Dah-Lee". We miss you and hope you come back again soon!
While they were here we also went to the zoo and Julia rode all the rides at Jungle Jack's Landing (yes, those pictures are lost). We also went back to the Rose Garden and listened to bagpipes (nope, no pictures). We went to North Market and walked through Gooddale park (pictures gonzo). So ya'll are just going to have to come back so we can recreate it. Until then just pretend these pool pictures are in front of a beautiful ocean...
Yeah, it just isn't quite the same.

oh i feel your pain.....i HATE losing pictures and i HAVE cried over it before! I'm sorry! it sounds like your trip was wonderful! so fun to have family stay for so long! i really think you'll have to do it again next year to show brian what he missed...in pictures and in person!
How FRUSTRATING!!! I have to tell you, the EXACT same thing happened to me when we had a rental car in DC. The memories from that trip are so much fuzzier now without photographic proof. The trip sounds fantastic though! I'm glad your family got to come out!

What a wonderful trip with your family though! You are good to write down all the memories. We just were out of town and Alyssa loved the sand at Lake Powell--those sticks and sea shells are perfect for decorating! So glad your girls had so much fun at the ocean for the first time.
Annie, that's horrible!!! It's not even the monetary loss...I know when I got my purse stolen, I cared much more about the things in the purse than the money!!! Glad you had a great time, though!!! Can't wait to see you in October!
How are you going to LIVE without a camera??!!??!? At least you had a fun trip. So what does Bryans call schedule look for Aug, cause Scott's is crazy!!!!

I'm so sorry! I'm getting angry for you. It sounds like you had a great trip though, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who tries to hide my tears when my family leaves. :)
Oh man, I was so excited to see pictures! I want to go with you when you go back!!It sounds so fun, I am sure the girls loved playing on the beach. I could definitely handle 85 degree water!
I'm not even going to read this post because I don't want to be jealous that we'll probably never get to go there, and I'm going to make you tell it to me on saturday when we have our "girls afternoon on the phone while kara drives, yet again" talk.
I lost two cameras in one year. It is so sad and make me mad every time. Maybe losing cameras is a family thing.

I want to cry for you. Our camera broke on the morning of graduation. That sounds like the most wonderful vacation. Did you stay in Charleston or someplace else?

that is the saddest thing i've ever read. can't you find out all the names of every rental car cleaner ever and write them letters asking them to keep the camera but send you the pictures? i'm just so sad. on the brighter side though, you did such a good job of describing the pictures that i feel like i actually saw them. so good job. :)
Ooh tears! What a disaster to loose your camera. I'm glad that you enjoyed a fab vaca w/ your family though! All the more reason to really write to remember it. :(
