The Fourth

Last year the Fourth of July was our last day in Columbus.  So it's crazy to think this is almost exactly a year we've been in Idaho.  It was such a great Fourth and Bryan was able to have a long weekend which made it perfect.  This is one of our very favorite holidays and it was the best to have all that time with Bryan and to literally play and play non stop.

We spent the morning at the local parade.  Of course I had to make the girls all patriotic and of course I had to take a bunch of pictures of them.

 I had to do a comparison picture.  This is a picture of Lily from last year wearing the same outfit because she was a chubalicious child but do you notice the tongue?  Now look at a picture from this year....

That tongue is still curled.  I guess it must be her thing.

 We met friends at the parade and the kids al had a great time collecting candy.

 The parade going by.  It was actually a really quick parade, which isn't a bad thing.  The most exciting part was when the horses pulling this coach went a little crazy.  They actually had to detach two of the horses and take the one into the neighboring field to calm down.

 After the parade they had several inflatables for the kids to play on.  They had a blast.

 Julia walked the tightrope blindfolded AND backwards.  She was so proud of herself.  After this we went to our neighbors house and had a big BBQ and swam in their pool.  It was a perfect way to celebrate the Fourth.  With good friends and cooling off in the water.

 That night the neighborhood put on a firework show.  It was so fun sitting there in our chairs watching them light everything up.

 We seriously live in the BEST neighborhood.  We lucked out big time.  And the sunset is beautiful like that every single night.  I often sit out on my porch to watch it.

 She was all smiles until the fireworks went off.  Then she was terrified and kept her head buried into my shoulder the entire time.  Poor thing.  I do think she enjoyed staying up late and being with everyone though.
